Grades 6-12  |  One Hour

Make artificial intelligence approachable with this exciting activity using CreateAI and MakeCode! Using a micro:bit and flick of the wrist, students will create and train a machine learning and explore how AI systems process data and make predictions.

Throughout this activity, students will learn about the importance of data collection, data analysis, and data quality as well as how the data samples you record impacts the accuracy and overall success of the model they create.

Getting Started

This teacher-facilitated or student-led lesson requires a computer with internet access and a version 2 micro:bit with battery pack. Students will follow step-by-step instructions for training, testing, and improving a gesture recognition model to identify different magic wand gestures and then create an interactive project in MakeCode.
